These two projects were really easy to do. I used the Upsy Daisy Designs papers "Hot Chocolate" and "Spirit" for these gift ideas. Check out more great ideas on the Upsy Daisy Designs Blog!

Highlighting a Technique to Try
On my layout below, I used Upsy Daisy Designs papers, and on one of their pages, they had these cute small trees (you can see those small ones at the top of my layout). I wanted to duplicate the look of one of those trees, but much larger on my page.
First of all, I scanned in their small tree, and then used a "scan and trace" wizard in my Klic-N-Kut software so that I could cut out the tree. Then I scaled the tree as big as I needed it to be, and cut it out of a neutral cardstock. (The Klic-N-Kut is a die cutting machine that is plugged into your computer - FYI - it's not as well known as some others!) Then I duplicated one of the petals in my software and cut about three each from different cardstock that matched the Upsy Daisy papers. I then placed the tree, cutting part of one side off so that it would look the way I wanted it to on my layout. Then I added all of the other page elements. I think these papers are really beautiful for a nature-type layout (Upsy Daisy Designs - "A Walk in the Park").

A Yummy Treat!
I just love the way these Upsy Daisy Papers ("Enchanted") make the most delicious looking cupcake!
A View from the top:
The "frosting" is actually white texture paint... so don't actually taste it! I also used some Ranger Stickles and Pearl paints.... then an Upsy Daisy brad to finish the top!

New Layout - "Favorite" (Bo Bunny!!)
Since Bo Bunny has some of my favorite products, this layout happens to be called "Favorite"!
Journaling reads: "Kayla, you’ve blossomed into such a great swimmer, no wonder it’s your favorite thing to do! ~July 2009"
I used almost all Bo Bunny "Popsicle" products for this layout - the colors are so great for a summertime swimming layout!

New Layout - Daddy Daughter Dance
These are some of my favorite photos of Larry and Kayla - they are both so photogenic! These were taken in February. I used one of the beautiful debut lines (French Couture) from Lily Bee Designs for this layout.
Journaling reads:
"The story of the princess outfit....
This year’s Girl Scouts Daddy/Daughter dance had a “princess” theme. However, being the somewhat frugal mom when I can be, I did not want to buy an actual princess costume. After all, we were about to go on a Caribbean cruise and Kayla would need a formal dress anyway. I knew that some girls would be in Disney Princess costumes, and I did not want Kayla to feel left out. She was thrilled with the fancy dress from Macy’s (on sale!), however she REALLY wanted to wear white gloves, a crown and have a Cinderella purse and shoes. Of course, the only color the Disney store had for Cinderella was aqua blue... oh well! Kayla was thrilled with the complete outfit, and her dad was a very proud escort to the elementary school where the dance was held. ~ February 2009"

Fancy Friday Challenge
Here is my entry for the Fancy Pants Friday Challenge: (Create something that celebrates the United States. It could be a card, mini album, home decor, or a cute sign for your kids to hold up on a 4th of July parade route...anything you choose. Make sure to use at least some Fancy Pants products when making your beautiful creation.)
I created a card using all Fancy Pants papers (Kewl, Sweat Pea) (except for the cardstock). I also used Fancy Pants buttons and rub-ons. I cut the images with the Cricut "Paper Doll" cartridge. The flag is a Jolees sticker. Ribbon is CI. Hope you like it!! I always love the Fancy Pants products!

My Cruise Review
Our family is going on a cruise before my husband goes to Afghanistan! We are leaving at the end of this month on Royal Caribbean. This will be Kayla's second cruise with us, her first was a Disney Cruise back in 2006. I must say, that it is absolutely true that Royal Caribbean has some of the best food we have had at sea! Carnival was just ok and Disney was nothing to talk about.
The Disney Cruise itself was very nice - we took great pictures and Kayla got a lot face-time with the characters. We felt very safe with her in the kids program with Disney. It was just the food that was a let down.
We are SO excited to be back on Royal Caribbean after 5 years. We are only able to go because my husband is deploying again and Kayla gets a week off of school!
I'm looking forward for great new photos to scrapbook when we get back!

GCD Studios!! Love that paper!
I take great pride in the fact that I LOVE touchable, texture-driven, choc full of choices, yummy patterned paper!
I was just browsing some manufacturer blogs, and I just love then new lines from GCD Studios! I mostly love the fact that they have so many patterns in each group - it's amazing. Just look at one of their lines called "Spring All Over" (yes, Spring is my favorite season!).
You can view their other collections here: GCD Studios - worth a look!

Chatterbox - Love it!
I was glancing through my many scrapbook store email notices of new products, and I could not help but fall in love with this cute, versatile Chatterbox Album! (FYI - The email came from a store called "Stop and Scrap"). I can see so many possibilities with an album like this.. for example, it looks like a GREAT travel journal! Chatterbox continues to impress me with their classic but trendy releases...

My First Post!
I have been scrapbooking since early 2005, and recently I really started focusing on this craft more than before.
I have a complete scrapbook room in my house (it is really the dining room!) - but it's painted RED and I love it!
I wanted to start a blog and share some things about my life and my scrapbooking style - hope you enjoy checking here from time to time!
